Myoseki bo
Myosekibo was founded by the renowned priest Nichiou in the 16th century. He was the head priest of Yamamotobo, one of the temples in Mt. Minobu, and Myounji Temple in Mito, the ancient capital of Northeast Japan. He also contributed greatly to the development of Nichiren Buddhism by constructing the temple at the top of Mt. Shichimen.
In front of the hall is the “Kozaishi” stone where the founder of the sect, St. Nichiren is said to have delivered his first sermon after he founded the temple. This sacred temple is closely linked to St. Nichiren, as it is said that Shichimen Daimyojin, the guardian deity of the Kuonji head temple, manifested Myoho Ryoho Daizenshin, the guardian deity of Minobu Mountain.
The temple lodge is quietly situated on a hill with a magnificent view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Japanese cuisine using the local specialty Yuba (Tofu skin) and seasonal vegetables is served. Upon request, vegetarian options are also available.
